remembering peter 7.1.2021

I spent the last couple of weeks in Denver, Colorado, where both of my daughters live. It had been a long time since we’d been together due to COVID, and I’m happy to have my daughter tank re-filled:)

And while I was out there, we were together to celebrate and remember my son and their brother Peter Imsland Evans, who died two years ago on June 21, the summer solstice. My son’s father lives near Denver, so he joined my daughters and me with a walk in the beautiful Mount Evans Wilderness.

We placed a small jar of Peter’s cremains near us while we ate our picnic lunch and talked about what we miss most about Peter. That’s one of Peter’s favorite necklaces in the pic.
After lunch, I added some of Peter to the mountain air.
Then we each took turns sprinkling Peter in to the mountain stream.

Peter would have loved our hike. I felt his presence there with us. It was great to spend the day with people who knew and loved Peter so well, keeping him alive in our hearts and minds.

  1. I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you had lost your son so recently, what a lovely way to remember him in a beautiful place. It’s important to keep making new memories with those we still have!🥰
