This year, in keeping with my desire to “give back” by donating a portion of my art sales to charitable organizations, I’m donating to the Madison School & Recreation pottery program. Their mission statement is “MSCR will enhance the quality of life for individuals in the Madison Metropolitan School District and for the community by providing recreation and enrichment opportunities year-round that are accessible to all.” It’s local, they offer fee assistance, and they offer pottery classes to people of all ages. Thank you to everyone who purchased my ceramics this year! You not only support me, but you support the MSCR Pottery Program š
And I sold one painting this year! (Thanks cousin Matt!) A percentage of that sale was donated to the Sierra Club.
I took part in only one local sale this year, and that was the annual MSCR Pottery Sale, which went completely virtual due to COVID. And a portion my sales from that event went directly back to the MSCR Pottery program.
Thankfully I had my Etsy shop up and running when the 2020 pandemic began, and those sales have been slow but steady. What a long, strange year it’s been!
A very happy new year to you all! Here’s a short poem by Basho on this last day of 2020.
Winter solitude–
in a world of one color
the sound of wind.
