I’ve been in Portland, Oregon for one week. What a delightful change in weather from the frigid, cold, white and gray of Madison, Wisconsin! Here in Portland, it’s rained steady only two days in the past week, and the sun has been out for half- or full-time the other 5 days. Portlanders tell me it’s been an unusually sunny week. Lucky me! Moss grows everywhere. Shingles, sidewalk cracks, benches, trees, – anywhere moss can attach itself, it finds a way to grow here in soft, green Portland. Below (click on the image to view at a larger size) is a watercolor painting of lovely Portland moss.
