Starting to play with color. Colored pencils are frustrating – I can’t get the color intensity I’d like, plus it’s often difficult to get a sharpness to a line. But they are good to play around with briefly after a pencil sketch, just to get an idea of how color would work. I’m pushing myself to play with blocks of color – without using lines – and it feels difficult. I’ll keep trying. Am about halfway done with reading The Drawing Mind, and it’s a fun, fast book. I came up with this drawing after one particular reading. The color is from Prismacolor NuPastels – so more intense than my colored pencils.
